Use of AED

The Award in the Use of AED (MQF Level 2) is a focused, practical training program designed to equip individuals with the fundamental knowledge and essential practical skills required to safely and effectively operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) on an adult or child who has suffered a sudden cardiac arrest.

What I will learn?

The rationale for this course stems from the critical need to increase public access to defibrillation, which is vital for improving survival rates from sudden cardiac arrest. Equipping more individuals with the skills to use an AED significantly strengthens community resilience in emergencies.
Aims of the Programme:
• To provide learners with the knowledge to recognize the signs of a sudden cardiac arrest.
• To train learners in the correct, sequential application of Basic Life Support (CPR).
• To ensure learners are competent and confident in the safe and effective use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) on both adult and child casualties.
• To enable learners to act as an effective link within the Chain of Survival.
