Work-based Learning
While the initial 8-hour course provides the Basic Operating Skills Test and Theoretical Instruction, full WBL is necessary for complete operational competency. The formal training acts as a prerequisite for the employer to complete the final stage: Familiarisation Training. This is where the operator practices on the specific make/model of truck in the actual working environment and is often documented by a supervisory performance evaluation to finalise the certification process as per the regulatory framework.
