Applicants must typically:
• Be a minimum of 18 years of age (standard for operating powered industrial trucks).
• Be physically and mentally fit to operate machinery safely, including adequate vision, hearing, and reflexes.
• Possess a basic comprehension of the English language for safety instruction and written assessments.
• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the practical session (e.g., safety boots, high-visibility vest).

• Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the equipment’s controls, load stability principles (e.g., center of gravity), battery care, and mandatory pre-use inspection checklists. Knowledge of legal and company safety protocols.
• Skills: Ability to smoothly and safely manoeuvre the stacker/jack in confined aisles, load/unload goods, stack/de-stack pallets efficiently, and execute emergency stopping procedures.
• Competence: The proven ability to consistently operate the equipment unsupervised, demonstrating a proactive approach to risk assessment and compliance with all relevant safety regulations in a live work environment.
